EcoFlow: The Charging and Surge Benchmark
EcoFlow's pattern is unmistakable: across four units from 245Wh to 4,096Wh, they post the fastest 0–80% charge time in every class they compete in. The RIVER 3 hits 80% in 30 minutes — fastest in the sub-$300 class. The DELTA 3 Plus does it in 40 minutes at the 1kWh class. The DELTA Pro 3 refills 80% of a 4kWh pack in 80 minutes, which on a per-watt-hour basis is the fastest charging in the entire database.
The second pattern is surge headroom. The DELTA 3 Plus surges to 3,600W from an 1,800W inverter — a 2.0x ratio and the best in the 1kWh class — and the Pro 3's 8,000W surge is the highest figure we track. EcoFlow also fields the broadest range: compact, two 1kWh units, and the only 4kWh unit in the database, which makes one-brand ecosystems practical if you want a small unit and a big one.

Jackery: Light Where It Counts, Slow at the Wall
Jackery's spec signature is weight efficiency at the 1kWh class: the Explorer 1000 v2 carries 1,070Wh at 23.8 lbs — 3 to 11 lbs lighter than every competitor in the class. For a unit that gets carried constantly, that's the spec that dominates daily experience.
At the 2kWh tier the pattern inverts from "light" to "ceilings": the Explorer 2000 Plus posts the strongest inverter in its tier (3,000W continuous, 6,000W surge) and the highest solar input (1,400W) — both meaningfully ahead of the Bluetti and Anker rivals.
The trade, consistent across the lineup, is charge speed: 60 minutes to 80% at 1kWh and 102 minutes at 2kWh are the slowest figures in their respective classes. And one housekeeping item: the Explorer 300, still on shelves, is one of only two NMC units in our database — rated for 500–800 cycles versus 3,000+ for LFP — and carries our second-lowest WattScore (74). Anker: Solar-Forward, Surge-Shy
Anker's SOLIX line is the most internally consistent of the four: all three units are LFP, all priced mid-band, and all share the same strength and the same weakness.
The strength is solar input relative to class. The SOLIX C1000 accepts 600W of PV — the highest ceiling in the 1kWh class, 20% above the EcoFlows and 50% above the Jackery. For solar-first buyers, that single spec can decide the class.
The weakness is surge. The C1000's 2,400W surge is the lowest in the 1kWh class; the F2000's 3,600W is the lowest in the 2kWh class — equal to what EcoFlow ships in a unit half its size. Anker inverters run everything within their continuous ratings, but they offer the least margin for hard-starting compressors and pumps of any brand here. If your load list is electronics and resistive appliances, the discount versus surge-heavy rivals is free money; if it includes aging motors, it isn't.

Bluetti: The Most Inverter and Capacity per Class
Bluetti's pattern is packing the biggest numbers into each class. The EB3A puts a 600W inverter and 1,200W surge into a sub-$300 unit — double the output of every competitor in the class, and the single most class-distorting spec in the database. The AC180 carries 1,152Wh, the most capacity in the 1kWh class. The Elite 200 v2 leads the 2kWh tier in capacity (2,073Wh), charge speed (70 minutes to 80%), and lightness (53.4 lbs) simultaneously.
The recurring cost is weight in the middle class: the AC180's 35.3 lbs is the heaviest 1kWh-class figure by 7 lbs. And while Bluetti units lead their classes in raw specs, their WattScores (81–88) sit a notch below EcoFlow's flagships, reflecting the all-around balance our scoring rewards — the weighting is documented in our methodology.
Pick Bluetti if: you want the most appliance capability per dollar at the entry level, or the best-balanced 2kWh unit, and weight is a secondary concern.
What the Spec Sheets Can't Tell You
Honesty about the limits of this analysis. Warranty terms, app quality, firmware behavior, customer support, and long-term failure rates are real differentiators that do not appear in a spec table, and we won't pretend to rank them without data. Two practical notes that don't require it: warranty length and coverage vary by brand, model, and retailer — read the current terms for the specific unit at purchase time rather than relying on brand reputation. And every brand here now pushes app-connected features; the spec-sheet question that actually matters is whether core functions (output on/off, charge limits) work on the unit's own buttons and screen, without the app. They do on the units we track.

Which brand has the best battery quality?
The spec sheets can't separate them on cell quality, and we won't guess. What they can separate: chemistry. All four brands' current-generation units are LFP (3,000+ rated cycles); the only NMC units in our database are the legacy Jackery Explorer 300 and Goal Zero Yeti 500X. Buy current-generation LFP from any of the four and pack longevity is a settled question.
Are these brands' solar panels interchangeable?
Largely yes, with adapters — most units accept standard PV input over common connectors within their voltage and wattage limits. Check the unit's solar input voltage range against the panel's open-circuit voltage before connecting; the wattage ceiling (100W on compacts to 2,600W on the DELTA Pro 3) is the binding constraint.
Why does EcoFlow take the top two WattScores?
The DELTA 3 Plus (91) and DELTA Pro 3 (92) lead because they post no weak columns: top-of-class surge, top-of-class charge speed, competitive weight, and LFP chemistry.
